Central America: new opening hours at Corinto border post

-

In Central America, the new opening hours of the Corinto integrated border post, between Guatemala and Honduras, are from Monday to Sunday from 5:00 am to 10:00 pm for all operations related to the passage of goods, empty means of transport and tourism, reported the Secretariat for Central American Economic Integration (SIECA).

The measure is temporary and has a duration of 60 days since last Monday, September 20. until activity is restored at the Agua Caliente Integrated Border Post (PFI).

The Honduran Customs Administration and the Guatemalan Tax Affairs Superintendency announced that “all customs operations handled at the Agua Caliente Customs Port were temporarily suspended due to the start of construction work to install a Bailey bridge at kilometer 234 of highway CA-10.”

This shared development action has led to “the integrated border post of Corinto being available for the entry or exit of goods from or to Guatemala by heavy cargo transport,” says the official information.

It is worth mentioning that the installation of the Bailey bridge will guarantee the safe and proper circulation and transit of means of transport and the general population that pass through the Agua Caliente Customs Office. Likewise, the initiative will provide better security to users once normality is restored in the handling of customs operations.
