This is established by the Decree 205 / 2022, published this Tuesday (26.04.2022/XNUMX/XNUMX) in the Official Gazette, with the signatures of President Alberto Fernández, the Chief of the Cabinet of Ministers, Juan Manzur and the Ministers of Productive Development, Matías Kulfas and Economy, Martín Guzmán.

The text of the regulation establishes that the following are exempt from “payment of import duties, Value Added Tax, internal taxes, port service fees, statistics and verification of destination for books, including books of prints, atlases and music books, classified under tariff headings 49.01, 49.02, 49.03, 49.04, 49.05 and 49.11, printed on paper or reproduced on magnetic, optical or electronic media, printed in any language, complementary materials that accompany the edition such as: photographs, records, compact discs, floppy disks, cassettes, videos, promotional material” that are brought into the country to participate in the 46th International Book Fair.

The official text also specifies that the measure is "for a maximum amount of fifteen thousand dollars (USD 15.000) per participating country," and clarifies that it exempts "the public attending the show from paying value-added tax and internal taxes on the sale of the aforementioned products."

Finally, the rule instructs the Federal Public Revenue Administration (AFIP) to "carry out the relevant controls at the referenced Fair, so that the merchandise entered with the established benefits is destined exclusively for the proposed purposes."
