The National Government made official this Monday (02.09.2024) the reduction of the PAIS tax rate from 17,5% to 7,5% on the use of dollars to pay for purchases of foreign currency notes and foreign currency made by residents of Argentina to pay obligations for the import of certain goods and for the acquisition of freight services and other transportation services for foreign trade operations.
Through the Decree 777 / 2024, the rates set out in sections d) and e), both of the first paragraph of article 13 bis of Title III of Decree No. 99 of December 27, 2019 and its amendments, are altered.
The measure It does not include a reduction in the rates for the purchase of airline tickets or tourist services, nor does it cover the value of the card or tourist dollar used to pay for purchases abroad.
The official document was published under the signature of the President of the Nation, Javier Milei, together with that of the Chief of Staff, Guillermo Francos, and the Minister of Economy, Luis Caputo.
