The National Executive Branch updated the application of the exemption enjoyed by the diplomatic corps, provided for in international conventions ratified by the Argentine Republic. The measure came into force on Friday (30.08.2024) with the publication of Decree 772/2024 in the Official Gazette.
This standard unifies the deadlines granted by Decree 25/70 and its amendments and by Decree 1001/1982; at the same time, renew the procedure for the entry and nationalization of vehicles, once their function or useful life has concluded, through the incorporation of compaction, implemented by the Ministry of Security, within the framework of the application of Law No. 26.348.
Additionally, the standard allows amortization for the determination of the taxes to be paid for the purposes of nationalization of goods imported with diplomatic exemption.
A final consideration to take into account. This Decree states that the management for temporary admission, the eventual extension and the request for naturalization will be carried out by the head of the mission or corresponding representation before the National Ceremonial Directorate who, considering it feasible, will send it with such proof to the General Directorate of Customs.
