The Government formalizes the use of the Electronic Waybill for the transportation of grains

-

The national government has officially adopted the use of the “Electronic Waybill”, a digital tool that will allow the State to improve its capacity to supervise the agricultural sector and simplify procedures. It will come into effect on September 1.

This is established by the Joint General Resolution 5017/2021 published this Friday (25.06.2021/XNUMX/XNUMX) in the Official Gazette, whose text indicates that the documentation necessary to transport grains within the country must be processed digitally, through the Electronic Waybill that will replace the paper forms that were used until now to document the transfer of grain, automobiles and rail.

This tool provides the State with greater capacity for oversight and traceability and arises as a result of the joint work between AFIP and the Ministries of Transport, Agriculture and Security.

In this way, the entire process of requesting, uploading and issuing the receipt must be done online, in a single step and using a single application.

“The implementation of the Electronic Waybill represents a milestone in the supervision of the agricultural sector. It allows us to control unregistered movements to limit irregular operations that not only affect revenue collection and fuel smuggling, but also harm the majority of actors who comply with the rules,” Marcó del Pont said at the presentation on Thursday afternoon.

AFIP explained that electronic waybills will not be reusable and will have a bar code and QR code that will allow viewing the data of origin and destination of the cargo, essential for control en route.

The changes will come into effect on September 1 and will be mandatory from November 1.
