Following the global trend, the customs system in Panama is undergoing major changes with the adoption of new technologies. Starting this Wednesday (22.03.2023/XNUMX/XNUMX), the National Customs Authority (ANA) will implement the electronic payment system known as the “Payment Gateway”.
This was officially announced by the Director General of ANA, Tayra Barsallo, who said that “the modernization of the entity's payment system continues through the 'Payment Gateway', for users of the Integrated Customs Management System.”
The payment gateway allows “payments of duties and taxes incurred in transactions, thus avoiding the user having to go to the bank,” he said.
The measure also offers other benefits: it supports the National Government's Digital Agenda and offers users of customs services: security, transparency and simplification of the Entity's procedures, according to Panamanian Customs.
