The National Service for Food Safety and Quality (Senasa) has created two fiscal consolidation warehouses for exporting lemons to the United States.
Both establishments, registered with the Senasa Certification Department under the name Ruta 9 Group Logística SRL and Terminal Zárate SA, are located in the Buenos Aires towns of San Pedro and Zárate, respectively.
These warehouses are a strategic part of the Operational Work Plan (PTO), necessary to meet the requirements for exporting lemons from northwestern Argentina to the continental part of the United States, under the so-called Systems Approach.
The inspections at the establishments were carried out by professionals from the Directorate of Foreign Plant Trade, from the National Directorate of Plant Protection of Senasa together with colleagues from the offices of San Pedro and Zárate, under the jurisdiction of the Pampeano Regional Center of the Agency, who authorized both warehouses to receive batches of fresh lemons for their subsequent consolidation towards said export destination.
Work together
Senasa reaffirms its work strategy with the United States Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS), which depends on the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA).
