The Governor of El Loa, Maria Bernarda Jopia, said that “cAs the Government of President Sebastián Piñera, we have clear objectives in this matter, which are to always remain alert and work as a team so that people do not believe that our borders are vulnerable. We are here and we will continue to fight against traffickers and all those who want to undermine the security of our citizens.".

The Head of the Anti-Narcotics Brigade of the PDI, Commissioner Vicente Villegas, highlighted the work of Customs and the coordination between all services. He added that the detention of the accused was carried out in the Guarantee Court of Calama and the court decreed the legal detention, establishing the precautionary measure of preventive detention for the 90 days that were set as the investigation period.
