Health controls are reinforced in horse transport

-

The Equine Production Board announced that it will strengthen health controls in all equestrian activities, including the transportation of horses as well as competitions in which equines participate.

In this regard, the Ministry of Agroindustry of the Nation and Senasa recalled the importance of Resolution 617/05, which indicates that all entities that hold events must have an accredited veterinarian, who will be responsible for health, while the organizers will have to report the data at least 20 days in advance to the corresponding local Senasa office.

As to transThe transport of animals must be supported by the Equine Health Booklet or Equine Passport that certifies a negative equine infectious anemia test and current mandatory vaccinations.. In the event of not having a Health Book or Passport, circulation will be carried out with DT-e (electronic transit documents) accompanied by the corresponding health certifications. In this case, both the owners/holders responsible for the equines and the transporters will be responsible.

“It is worth remembering that the Equine Production Board promotes the comprehensive development of the sector with a strategic view to the medium and long term, understanding the multiplicity of factors, areas and activities that it involves and that go beyond equine production itself; and on the other hand, consolidating a public and private work environment in pursuit of the fulfillment of the proposed objectives,” said Agroindustria in an official statement.
