New medicines must have government permission for export

-

The Government has added new medicines to the list of medical and health supplies that must have an export permit, in order to "guarantee the population access to critical supplies" in the face of the coronavirus pandemic.

This is established by the Decree 243 / 2021, published this Monday (19.04.2021/XNUMX/XNUMX) in the Official Gazette, whose text included the atracurium besilate; fentanyl citrate; midazolam; pancuronium bromide; and propofol to the list that already includes ethyl alcohol, certain medications, respirators and surgical gloves.

The decree stated that, "given the health emergency situation taking place in our country and in order not to affect the care of the population as a result of the outbreak of Covid-19, it is necessary to adopt new and immediate measures in addition to those already adopted since the beginning of this situation, guaranteeing the population access to certain critical supplies, in order to mitigate its spread and health impact."

At the end of March last year, the Government ordered that in order to export ethyl alcohol and gel, paracetamol, surgical and disposable gloves, and protective clothing, among other products, the shipment had to have a permit issued by the Ministry of Productive Development, with the intervention of the Health portfolio.

A month later, the list of supplies was expanded and has now been extended again with the addition of these four medications.
