Within the framework of the Action Plan for a Regional Mutual Recognition Agreement for Authorized Economic Operators (AEO), a customs delegation (Chile, Guatemala, Costa Rica and Dominican Republic) carried out a visit this week to jointly validate the AEO certification provided by the Bolivian customs service.

This was announced by the Tax Administration Service (SAT) of Guatemala, whose statement indicates that the actions were carried out in the following manner: January 24 to 28 at the premises of the interested party. Following the procedures observed, It was announced that Bolivia's OAS Program is compatible with the OAS Programs of the international delegation.

In this way, such activities express the cooperation between customs in the Americas and the Caribbean to strengthen security standards in the logistics chain and facilitate foreign trade, added the SAT.

It should be noted that eleven countries in the region signed an Action Plan in 2019 to consolidate the Mutual Recognition Agreement. This future agreement between customs is an added value of the AEO Program. For the private sector, the value provided is realized in the form of access to benefits and advantages in other customs, while for the public sector, it means the materialization of a mechanism of collaboration and cooperation between the respective customs administrations.
