Bilateral trade between Argentina and Brazil showed signs of recovery during March 2026. According to the bilateral trade report prepared by the Argentine Chamber of Commerce and Services (CAC), “bilateral trade between Argentina and Brazil was $2.597 million in the third month of the year, a Top% 1,5 to the value obtained in the same month of 2025, when it had been USD 2.558 billion.”
The document also notes that “trade grew by 36,2% compared to last February,” while “the trade balance was in deficit by USD 342 million.”
Recovery of Argentine exports

The report explains that "the year-on-year increase in Argentina's exports to Brazil corresponded mainly to the increase in vehicles for transport of goods and special uses, crude petroleum oils or bituminous minerals and milk, cream and dairy products."
Regarding imports, the CAC indicated that “imports from that country were $1.470 million and showed a year-on-year drop ofl 5,9%”, which was mainly explained by “the decrease in road vehicles, parts and accessories of motor vehicles and petroleum oils and fuels.”
Lower deficit in the first quarter
The survey also highlights that “the trade balance between both countries in the first three months of 2026 was negative in USD 698 million for Argentina”, although “noticeably lower than that recorded in the same period of 2025 when the deficit had been USD 1.276 billion”.
Argentina's position in Brazilian trade
According to the report, “Argentina positioned itself in fourth place among Brazil's largest suppliers”, behind China and Hong Kong and Macao (USD 6.665 billion), the United States (USD 3.314 billion) and Germany (USD 1.515 billion).
In turn, “among Brazil’s main buyers, Argentina ranked third”, behind China, Hong Kong and Macao (USD 10.490 billion) and the United States (USD 2.894 billion).
Global performance of Brazilian trade
The document adds that “Brazil’s exports to the world grew 10,0% in March 2026 compared to 2025”, going from USD 28.726 billion to USD 31.603 billion, while “imports increased 20,1%”, reaching USD 25.199 billion.
Thus, Brazil registered “a trade surplus of USD 6.405 billion”, accumulating “13 consecutive months of positive results”.
