The General Directorate of Customs, an agency dependent on the Customs Regulation and Control Agency (ARCA), has issued the resolution corresponding to the consultation of 12 electronic files on tariff classification in the MERCOSUR Common Nomenclature (NCM). The files include various goods, such as chemicals, electronics, textiles, and consumer goods.
This is established by the General Resolution 5755/2025, published this Wednesday (10.09). With the intervention of the competent technical areas, the following were issued: Classification Criteria Nos. 51/25 to 62/25, ensuring that tariff classification is carried out in accordance with the procedure provided for by General Resolution No. 1.618, the regulation that has governed these procedures since 2003.
The implementation of these criteria aims to standardize product classification, provide greater legal certainty for operators, and facilitate customs procedures, ensuring transparency in intraregional trade and compliance with legal obligations, as established by the new regulations.
Interested parties can consult the files and the Classification Criteria in the annex of the resolution, whose validity is immediate, to ensure the correct application of the current provisions.
