A seizure of electronic cigarette accessories was made by Customs at the Jorge Newbery Airport in Buenos Aires when 5.600 nozzles.

The mouthpieces are inserted into electronic cigarettes and contain the tobacco that is heated by the devices. The merchandise was new and of foreign origin.

Regarding this, the customs service recalled that electronic cigarettes and all their accessories are prohibited in the national market. It specified that ANMAT, as a regulatory health agency, established this in Provision No. 3226/2011, a decision that has been ratified in Resolution No. 565/2023.

The General Directorate of Customs therefore considered that the passenger's manoeuvre constituted an infringement of the baggage regime, as defined in Article 977 of Law 22.415.

It is worth noting that the term luggage includes all new or used effects that a traveler, taking into account the circumstances of his trip, could reasonably use for his personal use or consumption or as a gift, provided that the quantity, quality, variety and value do not allow it to be presumed that they are imported or exported for commercial or industrial purposes.
