The temporary reduction of soybean withholdings is formalized

The Government has officially reduced export duties for the soybean complex from October until the end of the year.

He did it through the Decree 790 / 2020 published this Monday (05.10.2020) in the Official Gazette, which specified that in In the case of soybeans, withholdings will drop three percentage points from the current 33% to 30% in October.

In November, the rate will be 31,5% and in December, 32%; and in January, the rate will be 33% again.

For oils, the reduction will go from 33% to 27% or 28% in October, depending on the product, which will converge from 30% to 31% in January 2021, "establishing a gap between grain and oils", better known as a differential.

To Biodiesel rates are reduced from 30% to 26% in October, culminating at 29% in January 2021.

This measure seeks to boost soybean sales by producers, estimated at around 16,8 million tons, based on calculations that can be made with data from the Ministry of Agriculture.

It also aims to accelerate the settlement of exports by agro-industrial exporting companies, which in the accumulated figure so far this year show a decrease of almost 13% compared to the first 9 months of the year, totaling US$ 15.133,768 million.
