The Government has officially modified the scheme of export duties and refunds for the industrial sector, with the aim of encouraging production with high added value and quality employment.
He did it through the Decree 789 / 2020 published this Monday (05.10.2020) in the Official Gazette, which provided a reduction in export duties on final industrial goods to 0% and on processed industrial inputs to 3%.
In the case of the automotive sector, the reduction to 0% of final goods is only for incremental automotive exports outside Mercosur.
For this purpose, the last 12 months prior to the decree coming into force are taken as a basis.
I also know decided to raise the floor for export refunds based on added value, for which they will be increased for industrial final goods at 7% and for industrial processed inputs at 5%.
The decree stated that "it is necessary to modify the export duty rates for certain tariff items of the Common Nomenclature of Mercosur."
He indicated that this modification aims to "encourage the diversification and complexity of the export basket and discourage the primary nature of the economy, promoting the production of goods with greater added value and encouraging investments aimed at industrial development."
