For the first time this year, tax revenues showed an increase in real terms in September

-

The head of the AFIP, Mercedes Marcó del Pont, reported this Friday (02.10.2020) that "for the first time this year, tax collection showed an increase in real terms in September," during a radio interview when referring to the del% increase 43,7 in tax revenues.

In nominal terms, the State obtained income of $ 606.508 millones, which meant an increase of 43,7% compared to the same month in 2019 against an inflation estimated at around 40%.

Among the taxes that showed an interannual improvement, the following stand out: Income Tax, Export Duties, Personal Property Tax and resources linked to the Social Security System.

All these concepts recorded increases of more than 40% in September compared to the same period last year..

The decline in activity and the various tax policy measures aimed at alleviating the situation continue to be relevant elements in explaining the performance of taxes linked to the domestic market.

For its part, VAT in September increased by 22% compared to the same month last year. The data show a fall in real terms but evidence a persistent slowdown in the rate of real contraction of VAT revenues compared to the figures observed since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The head of the AFIP announced that nearly 100 thousand companies have already joined the 2020 Moratorium: «We believe that it will be very comprehensive and will allow us to regularize part of the burden that has accumulated over the last 4 years and that had increased again with the pandemic., He said.

"It will be a relief, it is just one part to start the recovery process that will be accompanied by permanent policies by the national State for the creation of employment, the dynamism of the internal market and the promotion of exports," the official concluded.
