Trade between Peru and APEC totaled USD 51.828 billion until August

On the eve of APEC Leaders' Week 2024 in Peru, the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Mincetur) reported on Wednesday (06.11.2024) that trade in goods between Peru and the economies of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Forum (APEC) reached USD 51.828 million between January and August 2024. This figure represents an increase of 5,5% compared to the same period of the previous year.

Of this total, the exports Peruvian exports to APEC economies totaled USD 30.901 million, reflecting a growth of 8,4%. In 2023, APEC represented 67% of Peru's total trade with the world, consolidating itself as a key partner for the country.

In this context, Mincetur highlighted the importance of the APEC Leaders' Summit, to be held in Lima from 10 to 16 November 2024This event will not only strengthen economic and trade relations with the Asia-Pacific region, but will also project Peru's image as a host for large-scale international events.
