This Tuesday the Ministry of Productive Development published the Provision 819/2021 in which the quota is distributed 849 hybrid, electric and fuel cell (hydrogen) motor vehicles which may be imported at a reduced tariff.
Thus, for a year now, this measure, implemented for the first time in 2017, has been applied again, establishing an Extra-Zone Import Duty (DIE) of 5%, 2% or even 0% depending on whether the vehicles "are hybrid, electric or fuel cell (hydrogen) and, in turn, whether they are complete fully assembled (CBU), complete semi-knocked down (SKD) or complete completely disassembled (CKD)."
In this framework, what is established according to the measure for each automotive industry is second quarter is
- MERCEDES-BENZ ARGENTINA SAU: 50 units of electric vehicles Model Class C and commercial name (206) DITECAR SA: 15 units of hybrid vehicles. Maca Volvo. Model XC40 T5, XC90 T8 and XC60 T8.
- RENAULT ARGENTINA SA: seven electric vehicle units. Renault Kangoo ZE.
- FORD ARGENTINA LIMITED JOINT VENTURE: 213 hybrid vehicle units. Ford F-150 and Ford Kuga Fhev.
- NISSAN ARGENTINA SA: 22 units of electric vehicles. Nissan Leaf
- PEUGEOT CITROEN ARGENTINA SA: 2 units of hybrid vehicles. DS 7 CROSSBACK brand.
- TOYOTA ARGENTINA SA: 154 units of hybrid vehicles. Toyota brand. Model RAV4, Camry, UX250H, IS300H, ES300H, RX450H and NX350H
- VOLKSWAGEN ARGENTINA SA: 52 units of hybrid or electric vehicles. Audi brand. Model A4, A4 AVANT, A4 ALLROAD, A5 among others.
Finally, the measure also establishes that companies that wish to reapply for the quota for tariff reductions for the third trimester, period between the March 15, 2022 and June 14, 2022– they will be able to do so until next February 13.
