China speeds up customs clearance for epidemic prevention materials

China's customs authorities have stepped up clearance of imported materials used for epidemic prevention amid the fight against the novel coronavirus.

Lanzhou Zhongchuan International Airport in northwestern Gansu province said two batches of 122.000 surgical masks flown in from Vietnam were quickly cleared through customs.

The masks were donated by a group of tour guides from Gansu and some overseas Chinese societies.

Shanghai customs said a batch of epidemic control supplies donated by UNICEF were quickly cleared at Shanghai Pudong International Airport.

Meanwhile, Beijing has set up fast lanes at airports and customs offices to expedite the entry of imported materials, including medicines, disinfectants, protective equipment, medical supplies and other epidemic prevention and control materials.
