Brazil: Car production falls 4,1% in July, while sales rise

Car production in Brazil fell 4,1% in July from the previous month, while sales rose 7,7%, the national association of car manufacturers said on Monday (6.8.2018).

Automakers in Brazil produced about 245.800 new cars and trucks last month, while sales totaled about 217.500 vehicles, according to the National Association of Motor Vehicle Manufacturers (Anfavea).

Year-on-year purchase

In the year-on-year comparison, the Car production rose 9,3% and sales climbed 17,7%.

Brazil was one of the five largest automotive markets in the world until a recent recession, but remains a major base of operations for Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV, Volkswagen AG, General Motors Co and Ford Motor Co.
