Bolsonaro to launch 23 infrastructure tenders in first 100 days

-

The Brazilian government expects to hold 23 infrastructure tenders, including ports and airports, in the first 100 days of Jair Bolsonaro's administration, which began on January 1, the president himself said.

Bolsonaro assured that the 23 tenders that his government will launch will include the management of port and airport terminals, something he had already promised during the electoral campaign to reduce the weight of the State in the economy, according to the profile of the social network Twitter,

More than half of the tenders will be for airports. On March 15, 12 airports in the country are scheduled to be awarded to private initiative, including those in regional capitals such as Recife (Pernambuco), Joao Pessoa (Paraíba), Maceió (Alagoas), Aracaju (Sergipe), Cuiabá (Mato Grosso) or Vitória (Espirito Santo), among others.

Ports

In the port area, the forecast is to carry out the tendering of ten areas in the first half of that year.. The first three auctions will be held on March 22 in the ports of Paraíba (northeast of the country), which will require investments of 100 million reais (about US$27 million).

Bolsonaro also highlighted the expansion of public-private partnership (PPP) projects, especially in the area of renewable energy.

"The environment and the energy plan of clean and renewable matrices: we know of this high potential peculiar to our vast country, generating jobs, investments and development. These attitudes are in the expansion phase and are already coming off the paper," he commented.
