The Government formalized the regulation of the tax on fuel prices on Friday (1.6-2018).
This is established by the decree 501 / 2018 and General resolution 4527/2018 issued by the Federal Public Revenue Administration (AFIP) published in the Official Gazette.
The modification implies a 1,7% increase in the price of fuels. Therefore, the price of a liter of gasoline will rise by around 40 cents.
The new calculation for the application of the fuel tax is valid from June to August and is based on the accumulated inflation between January and March, which was 6,7 percent.
Previously, the fuel tax was calculated as a percentage of the refinery exit price. Now it is a fixed tax, updated quarterly for inflation, on the retail price.
