Argentina imposed anti-dumping measures on China on Thursday on imports of electric ovens, through the Resolution 706 / 2020 of the Ministry of Productive Development.
The regulation, published today (10.12.2020) in the Official Gazette, indicates the existence of dumping practices in imports of electric ovens in the period from April 2019 to March 2020.
"Prub on the closure of investigation which will be carried out through the file cited in the Visto for export operations to the Argentine Republic of "Electric ovens, for domestic use, with a capacity of eighteen liters (18 l) or more but not more than sixty liters (60 l), other than built-in ovens, originating in the Republic of China, merchandise classified in the tariff position of the Common Nomenclature of MERCOSUR (NCM) 8516.60.00", said the Ministry of Productive Development.
In this regard, the resolution "fixed to export operations to the Argentine Republic of electric ovens, for domestic use, with a capacity greater than or equal to eighteen liters (18 l) but less than or equal to thirty-six (36 l), except those built-in, originating in the People's Republic of China, a specific anti-dumping duty of ten US dollars and thirty-seven cents (US$ 10,37) per unit, and export operations to the Argentine Republic of electric ovens, for domestic use, with a capacity greater than or equal to thirty-seven liters (37 l) but less than or equal to sixty liters (60 l), except those built-in, originating in the People's Republic of China, a specific anti-dumping duty of eleven sixty-four US dollars (US$ 11,64) per unit".
Dumping, which Argentina accuses China of, is a practice that consists of selling abroad at prices lower than those on the domestic market.
