Argentina eliminates export duties on grains and by-products until October 2025.

The Executive Branch established the rate of export duties for grains and agro-industrial by-products at 0% - as wheat, corn, sunflower and soybean oil— included in the annex ofDecree 682/2025, published this Monday /22.09.2025) in the Official Gazette.

Basis and objective

The government explained that the decision is based on the positive impact of previous decrees (697/24, 38/25, 439/25, and 526/25), which reduced or eliminated withholding taxes on regional economies, dairy products, and pork, and seeks to strengthen the competitiveness of the agricultural sector and sustain export growth.

According to official figures, in 2024 Agro-industrial exports increased by 56% in volume and 26% in value, reaching around USD 48.000 billion annually, half of which corresponds to grain chains. During the first seven months of 2025, external sales maintained the upward trend, with notable increases in wheat (+31%), sunflower (+25%), soybean oil (+6%) and corn (+3%).

Conditions for exporters

Exporters of affected goods must settle at least 90% of the foreign currency within three business days of submitting the DJVE, including export collections, advances, and pre- or post-financing operations.

In case of non-compliance, the rate in effect prior to the decree will be applied, and the exporter will not be able to access the benefit again until their situation is regularized.

Scope and control

The benefit will apply to those who present DJVE or boarding permits from the date the decree comes into effect until the established deadline. In addition, Central Bank of the Argentine Republic (BCRA), the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries and the Customs Collection and Control Agency (ARCA)) will dictate the operational rules necessary for its implementation.

"This measure seeks to provide greater competitiveness to one of the country's most dynamic and important productive sectors, aligning policies with the principles of freedom and greater trade openness that drive the growth of agroindustrial value chains," states Decree 682/2025.
