Within the framework of the Digital Government, the Chilean Customs Service is streamlining the process of the Temporary Departure Declaration for Tourist Purposes (DSTET) through an electronic format. Starting this Friday (08.12.2017), passengers traveling abroad can declare articles and/or merchandise that are not considered in the concept of "traveler's luggage" in www.aduana.cl

This tool will contribute to regulatory compliance by allowing travelers to declare that the goods they transport abroad and that they subsequently return are not considered excess baggage for travelers.”

Meanwhile, the Technical Deputy Director of Customs, Gabriela Landeros, highlighted that this work is part of the modernization of the Service that has meant that more than 90% of its procedures are available digitally: “With this type of initiatives we facilitate the procedures that travelers or tourists must carry out., because by having the procedure available in a digital form, they can do it in advance to save time when arranging their trip.”
