Customs sets reference values for peanut exports

-

The General Directorate of Customs (DGA) established reference values for the export of peanuts, through the General Resolution 5077/2021 of the Federal Public Revenue Administration (AFIP) published this Wednesday (29.09.2021/XNUMX/XNUMX) in the Official Gazette.

Argentina is the world's leading exporter of blanched peanuts, both whole and split; and to establish the reference values, Customs conducted an analysis of the evolution of prices in international markets.

"Reference values are an instrument that benefits the local industry and peanut producers. We set clear rules for foreign trade with the aim of encouraging the export sector that complies with the standards," said the head of Customs, Silvia Traverso, in a statement.

Reference values provide a first cocontrol of declarations to safeguard fiscal interest and allow for the detection of deviations from the usual values for identical or similar merchandise.

In the case of blanched peanut exports, the reference values apply to sales to five groups of countries: Netherlands, Belgium, Spain, France, Greece, Italy, Portugal and Germany; Nigeria, South Africa, Finland, Hungary, Norway, Poland, United Kingdom, Romania, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, Russia, Ukraine, Czech Republic and Israel; Canada and United States; Uruguay, Chile, Paraguay, Bolivia, Brazil, Peru, Colombia and Venezuela; Australia, Bahrain and Morocco.

Through this tool, which strengthens the instruments for inspection and control of foreign trade, Customs monitors the prices at which merchandise is sold abroad to identify possible under-invoicing maneuvers.

This definition is added to the reestablishment of 17 other reference prices of product complexes for which reference values were already set since the beginning of Traverso's management, in December 2019.

Reference values were established for exports of dried plums, limes and lemons, shrimp, hides and skins, pears, apples, garlic, pork, pear tomatoes, concentrated must, blueberries, powdered milk, onions, potatoes, raisins, sea bass and beef.
