China's logistics sector posted steady growth in 2018, with the value of transported goods rising 6,4 percent year on year to 283,1 trillion yuan (about 42,3 trillion U.S. dollars), according to the country's Federation of Logistics and Purchasing.
The growth rate slowed slightly, by 0,2 percentage points, compared to 2017.
Logistics spending rose 9,8 percent to 13,3 trillion yuan, accounting for 14,8 percent of GDP last year, slightly higher than the figure for the previous year.
Among total expenses, transportation expenses increased by 6,5 percent, while storage and administration expenses rose by more than 13 percent, demonstrating greater efficiency in the transportation process.
Last year, the total revenue of the sector expanded by 14,5 percent to 10,1 trillion yuan, up 3 percentage points compared with 2017.
The stable performance of the country's logistics sector in 2018 was generally in line with economic growth of 6,6 percent, which exceeded the annual target of around 6,5 percent.
