The tax collection figure for the month of January closed at $261.961 billion, driven by a higher level of economic activity.
The outstanding data in the measurement of this variable was that the reTax collection experienced an increase of almost 24% compared to January 2017.
The growth, which was reported to have reached 23,9%, was largely due to revenues from the VAT and the Social Security system. Also collaborating, with less incidence, was the external sector.
"We have had a good result at the beginning of the year, with a large contribution from VAT, the Social Security system, and to a lesser extent, the external sector," said Alberto Abad, director of the Federal Administration of Public Revenues (AFIP), to the press.

In the analysis offered by the official, the following was highlighted: growth in economic activity. In addition, the AFIP reported the results of the various debureaucratization programs which is carried out in accordance with the Government's policies. The increase in revenue made possible was reflected in the 19,1% growth in Social Security contributions, totaling almost $85.000 billion.
On the other hand, he pointed out that VAT, linked to domestic trade, increased by 36,8% year-on-year to reach $60.500 billion, while Customs increased by 63% to reach $26.185 billion.
Meanwhile, the perception for bank Debits and Credits, known as check tax, reached $16.156 million, marking a growth of 23,7% "despite having two fewer business days" than in January 2017.
