Paraguay extends tariff benefit to imports of medical supplies and equipment

The Executive Branch of Paraguay granted la 0% import reduction on certain basic medical supplies and equipment required within the framework of the application of measures for the prevention and combat of the Covid-19 pandemic, through the Decree No. 4186/2020.

The measure responds to the requirements of the Ministry of Public Health and Social Welfare and to the inter-institutional work coordinated by the Integration Directorate of the Ministry of Finance, through which the medical supplies and products necessary to combat Covid-19 were identified, the regulations explained.

The tariff benefit applies to 28 codes such as Biosafety glasses, surgical caps, shoe covers, cannulas and catheters, syringes, alcohol gel, 70% alcohol, antiseptics, surgical gloves, masks, medical devices, among others.

Thus, the Executive Branch extends the tariff benefit granted from October 1, 2020 to March 31, 2021, in response to the current health situation, the official text indicated.
