With a sharp drop in exports in November, Argentina recorded a new trade deficit of USD 615 million. Thus, it is already has accumulated a deficit of USD 8000 billion in the year.

According to the National Institute of Statistics and Census (Indec) reported today (20.12.2023/XNUMX/XNUMX), Argentina completed exports for USD 4.872 million, a drop of 31,6% year-on-year, while the total of the imports was USD 5.487 million, which represented a contraction of 4,8%.

Trade volume (exports plus imports) fell by 19,6% in November to USD 10.359 billion.

According to INDEC, the drop in exports in November was due to a 22,1% drop in quantities and a 12,2% drop in prices.

All items In October, primary products fell by 54,2%; agricultural manufactures by 37,5%; industrial manufactures by 15%; and fuels and energy by 9,5%.

Imports, for their part, suffered a 2% drop in prices and a 2,9% drop in quantities.

Imports of passenger motor vehicles were reduced (62,3%), capital goods (19,2%), fuels and lubricants (14,9%). The rest of the economic uses increased slightly, with intermediate goods up 3,4%, consumer goods up 0,8% and parts and accessories for capital goods up 0,5%.

Trade with MERCOSUR registered a deficit of USD 158 million. Exports reached USD 1.191 million and were 13,6% lower than in the same month of the previous year, mainly due to a drop in MOI sales. (Argentine trade. Estimated figures for November 2023)
