The Federal Public Revenue Administration (AFIP), through Customs, seized $80.000 hidden in the socks of a person who was trying to enter the country from Paraguay in a vehicle.
The incident occurred on Tuesday (26.12.2017) at the Posadas-Encarnación International Bridge when customs personnel stopped a car from Paraguay with two people on board for routine inspection.
When the occupants got out of the car, the bulging cuffs of one of them caught their attention. After inspecting it, the Customs officers found $80.000 under the socks.
The Federal Court of Posadas and the Public Prosecutor's Office intervened because it was a case of malicious concealment of money.
