Within the framework of the AlimentAR Fair, held at the Tecnópolis premises, officials from the Ministry of Agroindustry of the Nation delivered the certification “Argentine Foods, a natural choice” to the Tucuman companies Citrusvil SA and San Miguel AGICIYF. SA so that they can use the seal on “fresh lemon”. They are the first Argentine lemon producers to obtain the right to use it.
These companies export approximately 145.000 tons/year to destinations such as the European Union, Russia, Ukraine, the Middle East, the Far East, Brazil and Mexico, among others.
The Secretariat of Added Value highlighted that this distinction not only consolidates Argentine products in traditional markets, but also helps to open new commercial doors by communicating the health and excellent quality of the foods we export.
It should be remembered that the stamp «Alimentos Argentinos» is a registered trademark and the use of its logo is only granted to manufacturing companies that adapt their production to specific quality protocols whose compliance is audited at all stages of the production chain. In this way, the product reinforces consumer confidence, demonstrates that it brings together premium quality attributes, and strengthens the productive identity that the country exhibits to the world.

With this recognition, companies will also have the additional 0.5% refund established by Decree 1341/2016 and Resolution MA No. 90-E/2017 for those products that are organic, or that have the right to use the "Argentine Foods, a Natural Choice" Seal or a Designation of Origin, tools coordinated by the Ministry's Undersecretariat of Food and Beverages.
Benefits
According to the Ministry of Agroindustry, since this Decree and its regulations came into force, they have been delivered 62 refund certificates, for a total of 772 tons of products, which equivalent to a FOB value of US$ 1.616.621.
The first certificate was signed on October 5 for the product raisins. It has also been exported Mate with the Argentine Foods label. This is the first time that exports can be quantified with the differentiation tools coordinated by the Ministry of Agroindustry.
Currently, 7 more companies are applying for the right to use the Seal to add value to their products and obtain other additional benefits such as participation, free of charge, in an annual fair on the calendar set by the Argentine Agency for Investment and International Trade.
