To the men and women who make up the Argentine Customs: Happy day

-

The establishment of the Argentine Customs is remembered every year on June 1st, for that first customs operation that is conceived in the records and that responds to an import destination from Brazil in the year 1586.

When the goods entered the country, men acted in the exercise of their role as customs inspectors. And this reminds us that Customs will be possible, starting with men and women who daily, in every corner of Argentina, carry out the necessary control with a view to protecting the interests of the entire Nation.

To them, then, is the due recognition of this day, because the Customs are the men and women who have made it up from its birth to the present day. Without them, there is no Customs and without Customs there is no Nation.

“Borders divide, customs unite””, a phrase that highlights the importance of Customs. This topic was chosen by the WCO in 2017 and undoubtedly marks the clarity that must be followed in the recognition of such an important body for the community, leaving aside the rigid view, embracing the new role of Customs that is aligned with the facilitation of international trade and the protection of all those citizens who advance in exports and imports.

Believing in the new role of Customs will be possible not only with changes in regulatory frameworks aligned with computerization, digitalization and facilitation, but also with the training of all customs officers and auxiliaries who work in foreign trade. Above all, by encouraging its men and women, transmitting the pride that comes from belonging to this organization and the importance of their daily activity, a fundamental exercise for the protection of the community of a nation.

With this in mind, we salute each and every one of the men and women in blue vests, who work from dawn to dusk in different and even unimaginable places in the Argentine Republic without due recognition.

To them, HAPPY CUSTOMS DAY.
