Honduras: On July 15, the extension to update cargo transport plates ends

-

The Honduran Customs Administration called on the population to remember that July 15, 2022In one day, the deadline for the update process in the customs system for the new plates ends.

Prior to this, Customs reported that it is working together with the Property Institute and the Honduran Land Transport Institute in this process with the aim of simplifying procedures and avoiding delays for land freight transporters when registering their International Transits in the Regional System of the Secretariat for Central American Economic Integration (SIECA).

"The exchange of information translates into time and cost savings for customs carriers, since previously they had to pay 200 lempiras for administrative procedures," explained the statement released (02.06.2022/XNUMX/XNUMX).

El Director of the Honduran Customs Administration, Fausto Cálix He pointed out that “thanks to this interoperability, the automation of information on 824 land transport units that have changed their license plates since May 26 of this year has been achieved.” The National Congress of the Republic approved an extension of the deadline for changing new vehicle license plates, so that vehicle owners who have not completed the process can do so.

To be considered

If the license plate change process is not carried out at the Property Institute, the driver is exposed to fines and penalties by the competent authority and in the case of Honduras Customs, the cargo unit that does not make the change will have problems in your step along the region's land borders.

For this reason, Honduras Customs urges land freight transport associations to inform their members of the implemented measure and to carry out the license plate change in a timely manner.

The initiative seeks to exchange information in a reliable manner in order to improve internal and external processes, thereby simplifying processes in different public institutions.
