The Argentine government has signed an agreement with the country's provinces to allow all citizens to obtain their National Identity Document (DNI) through procedures that will reach areas where indigenous communities live or which are characterized as being socially vulnerable.
During the event, which was called Federal Registration and Identification Meeting, the authorities have undertaken to establish registration and identification measures covering the entire territory.
To do this, the The National Registry of Persons (Renaper) provided mobile suitcases that allow ministers of the governorates and directors of Civil Registries of the 23 provinces of the country to process ID and passports.
These suitcases allow you to take a digital photo, record the person's fingerprints and signature.
The scanner built into the suitcase allows all this information to be digitized and then sent to Renaper.
The Government issued 8 million ID cards in 2016, in a country with more than 40 million inhabitants.
The right to identification is recognized by the United Nations (UN) Sustainable Development Goals, the Executive recalled.
Aduana News is the first Argentine customs newspaper to launch its digital version. With 20 years of experience, its publications and initiatives aim to provide the most relevant knowledge on customs issues in order to contribute to safe trade in the region.
