Ferrari Cavalcade Patagonia 2025: This is how the operation for the temporary import of more than 50 luxury cars went

-

An exclusive convoy of 50 Ferrari vehicles has arrived in Argentina to participate in the Ferrari Cavalcade Patagonia 2025, a journey taking place between November 16 and 24 through some of the most iconic landscapes in the south of the country. The event is considered one of the most important luxury tourism events on the international calendar.

To make their arrival possible, the Customs Collection and Control Agency (ARCA), through the General Directorate of Customs (DGA), carried out the complex temporary import operation of the 53 vehiclesThis regime allows goods to be brought into the country for a limited period and for a specific purpose, granting a total or partial exemption from import duties, provided that the goods are re-exported in the same condition in which they entered.

An unprecedented logistical operation

Customs officials explained that the vehicles arrived in the country through three different ways:

  • 47 Ferraris arrived Seaway in 24 containers.
  • 5 units arrived for airway to Ministro Pistarini International Airport.
  • 1 vehicle entered through via landand from Brazil.

They also noted that, as the vehicles entered the country, the containers were deconsolidated and the units transferred to customs warehouses for verification.

“Due to the extremely high commercial value and the rare nature of the merchandise, the entire operation was carried out in the Primary Customs Zone (ZPA), in facilities with a double security perimeter and access restricted exclusively to authorized personnel,” the same source specified.

Detailed technical control

As the video shows, the DGA technical team carried out a thorough check of each vehicle. It was verified that the chassis number/VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) matched the customs documentation presented. The numbers are located between the windshield, the instrument panel, and the engine compartment.

Likewise, it was controlled the entry of accessories, tools and technical equipment intended to the audiovisual recording, logistics, press coverage and mechanical support of the journey.

As established at the beginning of the operation, the vehicles and associated goods will remain in Argentine territory for up to 90 days under the Temporary Import Regime, which exempts them from the payment of customs duties for the duration of their stay.

A second intervention heading towards Tierra del Fuego

The operation will enter a new phase when the convoy must cross the Strait of Magellan to reach Tierra del Fuego. During this stretch, the vehicles will travel through Chilean territory, which will require further intervention by Argentine Customs.

Upon completion of the journey and departure from the country, a procedure mirroring that of entry will be implemented.

“The departure of the vehicles will be formalized through PER1 (Export Particular) export documents, which will allow the cancellation of the initial temporary imports,” the DGA indicated.
