Customs inspection chief arrested in Ezeiza

-

A striking raid was carried out this Friday (06.10.2017) in the arrivals area of the Customs Office at Ezeiza International Airport. The order came from the federal judge of San Isidro, Sandra Arroyo Salgado, ex-wife of the deceased special prosecutor Alberto Nisman.

According to the style and execution of the raid, as well as the security forces involved, the reason for such a raid is an important issue, Minuto de Cierre points out.

"It is a terrible raid, with a gag order included. It has all the ingredients of a big case," a Customs authority told the newspaper.

Alberto Germán Guevara, head of the customs inspection and operations section, whose area of performance is the baggage sector, was arrested and his second in command Aroldo Gómez, who is in the province of Córdoba, will suffer the same fate once he arrives in Ezeiza.

As for the security forces in charge of the operation, they were Federal Police officers. But, as the minutes went by, officers wearing Interpol uniforms were also seen, so this is an issue of international scope.

Among the provisions of the measure, it is noteworthy that no one from Customs can leave the perimeter of the search.
