Chilean Customs received two Papamovil

On the occasion of the visit of Pope Francis between 15 and 18 January 2018, two Popemobiles arrived at the Santiago International Airport early on Friday morning (1.12.2017), received by the National Customs Service for control and inspection of merchandise.

Following the required physical and documentary inspection by inspectors, the Pope's two cars entered Chile legally.

These Special vehicles arrived from the United States on a charter flight. This is two Jeep, 2015 Wrangler model, which were already used in New York, Philadelphia and Washington in 2015, and in Mexico in 2016. Both came with their respective security domes.

Around noon on Monday (27.11.2017) the Popemobile that will be used in Iquique had arrived in the Andean country, a 70 Toyota Land Cruiser Series 2014, 4×4 traction and cab chassis.

This vehicle was in Santa Cruz, Bolivia, and was transported by land via Tambo Quemado and Chungará, passing through Arica to then reach its final destination in the Tarapacá Region.
