Brazil's Federal Revenue Service signed a Joint Declaration of Intent with the German Customs Administration with the aim of expanding the exchange of information, sharing knowledge on new technologies in the fight against transnational crime and strengthening bilateral cooperation.
The document was signed on Wednesday (April 13, 2026) in São Paulo, at a meeting that brought together authorities from both countries, who reaffirmed their commitment to international cooperation and the strengthening of customs actions, the agency reported.

The initiative includes the exchange of professionals, the holding of seminars and technical visits, as well as training and professional development programs.
The measure is based on the responsibilities of the Receita Federal do Brasil, an agency subordinate to the Ministry of Finance, responsible for administering taxes under the jurisdiction of the Union, including those related to foreign trade.
It also plays a role in the prevention and combating of crimes such as tax evasion, smuggling, illegal transport, piracy, commercial fraud and other illicit activities related to international trade, including drug trafficking and the trafficking of endangered species.
With this instrument, both administrations are advancing an agenda focused on integration, innovation and border security.
