A group of executives from the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) visited the new headquarters of the National Customs Authority (ANA) to discuss a variety of topics, the agency reported on Friday (15.07.2022/XNUMX/XNUMX).
The statement detailed that the General Director Tayra Barsallo Together with the Deputy Director of Logistics Juan Pablo García and a group of advisors from the entity, they spoke specifically about the Progress of the Customs Logistics Integration Project (PILA), whose objective is to modernize the systems and processes of dispatching goods and people through technology and infrastructure to meet the demands of foreign trade.
Barsallo raised the IDB group, made up of specialists Alejandra Hernández, Rocío Medina and Jaime Granados (from the Trade and Investment Division), the level of progress in each of the three sites where checkpoints are to be built: Canoas Pass, Sereno River and GuabitoHe also pointed out that the project is progressing at a good pace in the first two areas. Meanwhile, in the case of Guabito, progress is being made with the acquisition of the strategic site for the development of the integrated control centre.
The authorities also discussed other programs of the Panamanian Customs such as the Monitoring and Video Surveillance Center or with a Regional Training and Coaching Center, which will be carried out with the support of allied countries.
