Argentina: New jurisdiction established for Customs of Rio Grande and Ushuaia

The Federal Public Revenue Administration (AFIP) has established a new operational jurisdiction for the Customs of Río Grande and Ushuaia, which are dependent on the Patagonian Regional Customs Directorate.

This is indicated by the Provision 161/2018 published this Monday (25.6.2018) in the Official Gazette.

Subdirectorate General of Jurisdictions and Interior Operations

According to the standard, the Rio Grande Customs covers the Departments of Río Grande and Tolhuin. Meanwhile, the Ushuaia Customs It includes the Departments of Ushuaia, South Atlantic Islands and Argentine Antarctica, both jurisdictions in the province of Tierra del Fuego, Antarctica and South Atlantic Islands.

General Subdirectorate of Metropolitan Customs Operations

On the other hand, the AFIP creates an organic unit with the level of Division called "Integrated Administrative Service", dependent on the General Subdirectorate of Metropolitan Customs Operations, within the scope of the General Directorate of Customs.

At the same time, it establishes new names in different sections of the Metropolitan Customs Sub-Directorate.

These new provisions will come into force within twenty days (July 14, 2018), clarifies the text signed by Leandro Cuccioli.
