Starting on December 20th of this year, the Argentine company Flybondi will connect Buenos Aires and Córdoba with Punta del Este in Uruguay. The Undersecretary of Tourism, Benjamín Liberoff, stated that the presence of the airline in the Uruguayan market improves the position of his country in the network of air connections to the south of the continent.

By the summer of 2019, the Uruguayan resort's air terminal will incorporate eight weekly flights. Five of them will depart from and to El Palom airportar, located 18 kilometers west of the city of Buenos Aires, and Three will connect Punta del Este with Córdoba, says the presidency of Uruguay.
The announcement came after Corporación América, the manager of the Punta del Este and Carrasco airports, signed an agreement with the Argentine company.
Flybondi's entry into the Uruguayan market "is part of our country's reintegration into the international flight network. The opening of Argentine skies to the entry of new airlines creates an opportunity for Uruguay to join that network," Liberoff told the Secretariat of Institutional Communication.
The airline Flybondi was founded in 2016, with the business model called super low cost makes Punta del Este its first international destination.
