Following the alert from the canine team, the customs inspectors carefully checked the suspect's luggage, finding in a the drug was hidden inside the wrapped packages with a double bottom with transparent tape. The field test was then carried out, which tested positive for cannabis sativa or marijuana.

The administrator of the Los Andes Customs, Nelson Ortega, highlighted that “once again the work of the canine team allowed this drug detection in Los Libertadores, preventing this narcotic from being sold to end consumers.”

The drugs, evidence and the suspect were placed at the disposal of the Los Andes Local Prosecutor's Office and the Investigative Police.
