Leaders of the Chilean Customs Officials Association (Anfach) announced a new indefinite strike in protest against what they described as the government's failure to comply with agreements to increase staff by classifying contract workers.
In this regard, the national president of Anfach, Marcelo Reyes, explained that if the Government does not give clear signals, the government will initiate a indefinite strike closing all border accesses to the country.
After conversations with the undersecretary of government, and after the few months left of the current administration, Anfach, gave an ultimatum, if clear agreements were not generated by the government, they would wait until Sunday, customs officials from all over the country will begin on Monday the 13th with the mobilizations, this was reported by the national president of the union, Marcelo Reyes.
Among the demands of the National Customs Service officials affiliated with Anfach, they ask that the agreement reached in November of this year be fulfilled, where the government would have committed to retirement pensions for some 200 workers from all over the country.
Another point of the demands is related to the lack of investment by the State in these terminals in the last 17 years, which generates adverse conditions for the work carried out by the officials.
The protests will begin at air, land and sea crossings throughout the country starting next Monday if the agreements signed by the government are not met, said the National leader.
Due to the government's lack of response, Anfach has started protests and announced an indefinite strike in the coming days.https://t.co/80RygPrYEC pic.twitter.com/QbBm4hi5u7
