They recommend declaring a national agricultural emergency in 4 provinces

The National Commission for Agricultural Emergencies and Disasters (CNEyDA) on Thursday (24.1.2019) recommended to the Secretary of Agroindustry, Luis Miguel Etchevehere, to homologate the national agricultural emergency in Santa Fe, Corrientes, Chaco and Santiago del Estero, which saw their productive capacity and infrastructure affected.

«In the next few days, and as quickly as possible, we will approve the emergency declarations of the four provinces affected by the floods."Etchevere told members of the Commission and provincial officials present at a meeting. 

Protocols in place

«There are protocols in place to address this problem. Senasa has made the movement of cattle more flexible from the beginning., and we have a strong territorial presence through that entity and our family agriculture and INTA delegates who were and are in permanent contact with authorities and producers," said the Secretary of Agroindustry.  

The emergency law provides for the implementation of an extension of the due date for tax payments to profits, to the presumed minimum profit, and to personal property for the duration of the emergency period; activates the emergency plan stipulated in the permanent program for demandable debt (with a term of up to 48 installments); suspends during the period of the emergency the initiation of tax enforcement proceedings for the collection of taxes owed by the taxpayers included in the decree; the proceedings that were in process for the collection of taxes included in this article must be suspended until the expiration of the established term; and when forced sales of property occur, 100% of the profits derived from these sales may be deducted from the income tax.

Extraordinary measures

Etchevehere reported as extraordinary measures the presentation of a line of credit 5 years with 2 years of 50% subsidy bonus by Agroindustria at the rate in effect at the time of your request.

Regarding the authorization of light cattle slaughter while the climatic contingency remains, the Directorate of Agricultural Trade Control was instructed to take into consideration the emergency situation.

The National Bank applies benefits for affected producers such as waiting for due dates; suspension of up to 90 days of the initiation of trials and administrative procedures for debt collection.

AFIP will not withhold income tax from producers in emergency situations beyond their status in SISA.
