The Benjamín Matienzo Airport in Tucumán will resume operations this Friday, September 1, after completing the renovation and expansion of the runway that took three months.
After the reforms the The air terminal of the Benjamin Matienzo airport in Tucumán will be inaugurated on Friday (01.09.2017).
According to the Télam agency, the National Government invested almost $1.500 billion to renovate and expand the runway, which went from 2.900 meters to 3.500, and repair taxiways, among other jobs.
The refurbished runway will have a useful life of at least 40 years at its maximum performance, and according to specialists, around 65.000 m3 of concrete and 17.000 m3 of asphalt were used to carry out the improvement work.
The inauguration ceremony for the works will take place on Friday before noon, headed by President Mauricio Macri, who will be accompanied by members of the national cabinet, according to the announcement made by the Infrastructure Coordinator of the Belgrano Plan, José Ascárate.
