First multisectoral meeting in 2023 to address the issue of foreign trade

The authorities of the different chambers held the first meeting of “Representative entities of foreign trade", at the facilities of the Customs Brokers Center of the Argentine Republic (CDA).

The objective of the meeting was to express the concern and conflict generated by the BCRA Communication No. 7771 regarding the new procedure for the payment of freight, as well as the situation of the SIRA and the 365-day deadlines, making import and export operations more complex, the CDA highlighted in a statement.

And he stressed: "The first joint initiative will be request a meeting with the Monitoring and Evaluation Committee of the Import System of the Argentine Republic (SIRA)* to be able to explain the current situation that Argentine foreign trade is going through.”

  • AIERA (Association of Importers and Exporters of the Argentine Republic)
  • CDA (Customs Clearance Center of the Argentine Republic)
  • CAC (Argentine Chamber of Commerce and Services)
  • CADEFIP (Chamber of Private Fiscal Deposits)
  • CACIPRA (Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Production of the Argentine Republic)
  • CAME (Argentine Confederation of Medium-sized Enterprises)
  • CATARA (Customs Transport Agents Center of the Argentine Republic)
  • NAVIGATION CENTER
  • CERA (Chamber of Exporters of the Argentine Republic)
  • FECACERA (Federation of Foreign Trade Chambers of the Argentine Republic)
  • PAETAC (First Association of Motor Freight Transport Entrepreneurs)
  • CGERA (General Business Confederation of the Argentine Republic)
  •  UIA (Argentine Industrial Union)
  •  UIPBA (Industrial Union of the Province of Buenos Aires).

Follow-up + commitment 

After this first meeting, the CDA stated that will follow “very closely” what has been proposed, to hold a next meeting on Tuesday, June 6, in order to evaluate and plan joint actions.

“All entities have renewed the commitment to work on traceable issues, promoting the strengthening of public private dialogue and bringing possible solutions with the sole purpose of contributing to the continuous improvement and facilitation of foreign trade," the CDA highlighted.
