The national government has made official the ban on the use of Boeing 737 Max aircraft. The measure was announced this Tuesday in the Official Gazette by the resolution 194/2019.
"Prohibit the operation of BOEING brand aircraft, Models 737-8 MAX and 737-9 MAX, by all certified operators in the Argentine Republic”, states the text of the rule published this Tuesday (19.3.2019).
In addition, it is explained that the National Directorate of Operational Safety (DNSO) proposed to temporarily ground and even prevent the overflight of Argentine territory of all types of Boeing 737-8 MAX and 737-9 Max brand aircraft immediately and "until the investigation activities of the most recent accident involving the aircraft model in question reach conclusions that justify lifting the measure."
The resolution highlights that aeronautical authorities worldwide also adopted this measure "following the recommendation made publicly by the manufacturer and in order to guarantee operational safety until the causes of the accidents that occurred on October 29, 2018 and March 10, 2019 in the Republic of Indonesia and the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, respectively, are clarified."
The regulation is signed by the head of the National Civil Aviation Administration, Tomás Insusti.
