In view of the charges expressed in US dollars in port activities, the General Port Administration (AGP) has issued the Resolution 128/2021 through which, it is sought to clarify the criteria for applying the rates, as and as the text says, there are two types of quotes: the "Dollar Bill" and the "Dollar Currency."
The General Port Administration clarifies in the regulations that there is a lack of specification of the type of quotation to be used (“Ticket” or “Currency”).
In view of this, it has been resolved, accept the use of the exchange rate for dollar bills at the selling exchange rate of the Banco de la Nación Argentina corresponding to the close of operations on the business day immediately preceding payment or billing (as applicable), for the settlement and billing of all charges issued by this State Company, except in those cases in which a method other than that provided here has been expressly specified. Based on this, port terminals (concessionaires, permit holders, etc.) of the Jurisdiction of the Port of Buenos Aires that collect fees and other charges on behalf of and at the order of the AGP, must clarify in their tariffs and/or publications related to the subject, the exchange rate quotation they have adopted.
The resolution will come into effect upon implementation of the new SAP ERP system.
